Ripken Stadium was the site for New York-Penn League action featuring the Aberdeen Ironbirds and Youngstown Gremlins.

Riding the 3-hit performance of the 23-year old center fielder E.J. Turner, the Youngstown Gremlins defeated the Aberdeen Ironbirds, 8-0. Dave Wallace came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3.1 innings. His record now stands at 3-0.

Youngstown used the hitting of Julen Betancourt to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put the Gremlins on top, 3-0. For the game, Betancourt had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

In postgame remarks, Turner said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."

The win makes Youngstown 39-28.
