Spikes Pull Out Late-Game Win, 8-7
The State College Spikes did just enough to secure a victory over the Connecticut Tigers, 8-7, in 14 innings at Bowman Field. Nobody did more than third baseman Neil Cochran. Jayden Klumb picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Samuel Reyes suffered the loss. This loss makes it 6 in a row for Connecticut.

Up to bat in the bottom of the 14th, 24-year old second baseman Maddox Nims had a chance to be the hero. Connecticut pitcher Samuel Reyes wanted to foil that plan. But with two outs, Nims drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Spikes had themselves a thrilling win.

"What a great game, great atmosphere," Nims said.
