Jokers Suffer 5-1 Home Defeat
The Oil City Oilers topped the Atlantic City Jokers, 5-1, in New York-Penn League action at Monongalia County Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Oil City pitcher and Carmichael, California, native Mark Hinkel. The save was credited to Stanley Hida, his 3rd. The last-place Oilers bumped their record to 30-37.

Duncan Fry dealt the Jokers a blow in the top of the third. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Oil City leading 2-1, Fry hit a first pitch sinker for a run-scoring single.

"Mark was doing a good job pouring in strikes," said Oil City manager Kyle Robinson.
