The Lowell Spinners soundly defeated the Atlantic City Jokers, 11-2, at Monongalia County Ballpark. Doyle Owens let his bat do the talking. He went 4-6 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for Lowell. Lowell reliever Parker Erdely was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Baptisto Montero. The win makes Lowell 27-42.

Lowell used the clutch hitting of Marty Justice to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Spinners the lead, 5-2. For the game, Justice had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

Atlantic City manager Jose Ornelas called the blowout loss "a real bummer."
