Pizza Rats Drop Tigers, 2-1

The Staten Island Pizza Rats eked out a 2-1 win versus the Connecticut Tigers at Richmond County Bank Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Reece Herrera. He was terrific. Staten Island bumps their record to 21-47 with the win.
The Pizza Rats got a big at-bat from shortstop Jeronimo Guzman. For the game, Guzman went 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Staten Island a 2-0 lead.
"Reece executed his pitches at a high level," said Staten Island manager Max Collison.
