The Auburn Doubledays topped the West Virginia Black Bears, 8-7, in New York-Penn League action at Dutchess Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Auburn pitcher Bill Ferreira. The winner was Auburn reliever Josh Letchworth, now 5-0. The loser was Jonathan Milleville. Jack Stuto earned the save for Auburn, his 10th of the year.

The game was at a stalemate until catcher Hank Scott came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing West Virginia pitcher Jonathan Milleville, he hit a 2-2 slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Auburn on top, 8-7.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Scott said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

Auburn's record now stands at 20-13, placing them second in the New York-Penn League North Division.
