Lake Monsters Take Tight Tangle
The Vermont Lake Monsters used a stellar performance from pitcher Tommy Huish to throttle the Oil City offense en route to an extra-inning, 2-1 win at Centennial Field. Gene Pierce snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 2 innings. He's now 4-1 on the season. Vermont is now 28-36.

The decisive blow was delivered by Sawyer Cox in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a solo home run off 21-year old right-handed pitcher Troy Pontz to win the game for Vermont. The home crowd went nuts.

Huish called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
