The Lowell Spinners and Youngstown Gremlins were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The 6-2 Youngstown win over Lowell was due largely to Ahmad Elix. The Gremlins first baseman went 2-3 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The Gremlins are now 17-16, while the Spinners fall to 9-24.

With Youngstown leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Elix hit a fastball from Cody Bass for a grand slam home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Gremlins ahead, 5-0.

In comments to the Youngstown Observer, Elix admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
