Spikes Clip Jammers, 1-0
|
Robert Hawks pitched well, but the Jamestown Jammers still lost the game, falling 1-0 to the State College Spikes at Bowman Field. State College reliever Lanny DeLuca was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Robert Hawks took the loss. Earning his 2nd save for State College was Lucas Caron.
Had Cesar Solis not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Solis hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Spikes.
"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager Ryan O'Donnell.
At 24-9, the Spikes claim first place in the New York-Penn League South Division.
