Pizza Rats Take Tight Tilt
|
The Staten Island Pizza Rats nipped the Tri-City ValleyCats, 4-3, at Richmond County Bank Ballpark. Staten Island shortstop Torquemada Abreu, in particular, starred. Justino Cojera recorded the save for Staten Island, his 5th of the season. With the win, Staten Island raised its record to 33-33.
In the bottom of the fifth, Ethan Landon delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Staten Island designated hitter hit a run-scoring single, putting the Pizza Rats in front, 4-3.
"We did enough to win," said Abreu.
