Rapids Lose Late, 7-4
|
The Niagara Falls Rapids got a superb performance from pitcher Shad Ehrlich, but the Vermont Lake Monsters still won the game, 7-4. Ehrlich threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The Lake Monsters now have a record of 16-16.
Vermont used the clutch hitting of Ray Bontoux to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Lake Monsters the lead, 6-4. For the game, Bontoux had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"Nice win for us," said Bontoux. "Now we'll go after the next one."
