Lake Monsters Nip Marauders, 5-4
|
Centennial Field was the site of quite a ballgame.
In a close game at Centennial Field, the Vermont Lake Monsters edged the Kennewick Marauders, 5-4. Vermont second baseman Brayan Segovia stood apart with his performance. He went 2-5 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 3. The winner was T.J. Onofre in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Max Duryee took the loss.
The Lake Monsters procured the win, in large part because of designated hitter Hal Williams. In the bottom of the 13th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"This game tested our mettle," said Segovia.
The 4th-place Lake Monsters are now 15-16, the Marauders 24-7.
