Lobsters K-O Oilers, 4-0
|
The Maine Lobsters rode a solid performance from 20-year-old starting pitcher Alberto Baxter to a win, beating the Oil City Oilers, 4-0, at Portland Ballpark. José Tzintzun picked up the save for Maine, his 7th of the year. The last-place Oilers now sit at 19-43.
Maine took a 4-0 lead on Braden Sampson's 12th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Sampson hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Oil City pitcher Bromley Yancey visibly frustrated.
"Alberto did a nice job," said Lobsters manager Bill Medina.
