Riding the 2-hit performance of the 21-year old left fielder Adam Trief, the Connecticut Tigers stopped the Auburn Doubledays, 9-0, in 9 innings. Auburn is in the throes of a long losing streak, which is now 9 games.

With Connecticut leading 4-0 in the top of the seventh, Trief came up to bat against Auburn pitcher José Manuel Armstrong. Trief hit a fastball to left for a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season put the Tigers on top, 7-0.

"This team is real focused right now," said Connecticut manager Simon Begum.
