AquaSox Best Gremlins, 11-6
|
Everett took on Youngstown in front of a lively crowd.
Youngstown designated hitter David Etcheverry was sensational. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Everett beat the Gremlins, 11-6. The winner in relief was Clendon Davis. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. He now owns a record of 2-2.
The AquaSox got a big hit from left fielder Ross Stokes. In the bottom of the seventh, Stokes pounded a 3-run home run to right-center. His 1st home run of the season put the AquaSox ahead, 11-4.
"We'll savor this win," Stokes told the Everett Chronicle, "then get ready for the next game."
Everett is now 20-11, Youngstown 16-15.
