Black Bears Rally Late to Nip Rapids
Niagara Falls got a valiant performance from pitcher Luke Mohler, but it wasn't enough to beat the West Virginia Black Bears. West Virginia won the game, 4-3. Mohler threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Cidro Valdivieso was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Morton Rose. Bear Bridges closed the door for West Virginia, picking up his 19th save of the year.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Billy Ray Swiatek? The 22-year old center fielder Swiatek stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put West Virginia up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.

"If you ever get this game figured out," said Niagara Falls manager Josh Reeder, "let me know."
