Tigers Come Back Late to Clip Ironbirds
|
The Aberdeen Ironbirds got a sterling performance from pitcher Benicio Robledo, but the Connecticut Tigers still prevailed, 2-1. Robledo threw 5.0 innings allowing 1 run. Jaxson Mora, credited with the win in relief, is now 4-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.1 innings. Aiden Petrowsky earned the save, his 5th.
Kenny Trail, who is tied for 6th in the NYP in home runs with 11, took Aberdeen hurler Jeremiah Heggins deep in the bottom of the eighth. His solo home run put the Tigers on top, 2-1. In all, Trail had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Tough loss," said Aberdeen manager Alden Fuentes. "But we'll rebound from it."
The Connecticut winning streak has reached 4 games.
