Assael Cordero propelled his team to victory over the Vermont Lake Monsters. The final score was 5-2, Lowell. The Spinners now have a record of 17-39 with the win over Vermont.
Lowell used a timely hit from Athol Mitzel to get the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Spinners ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"I had a good game plan," said Cordero. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Condon Murrell said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
