The State College Spikes met little resistance from the Hamilton Red Wings, beating them, 11-1, at Bowman Field. Elliott Joseph led the way. He was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4 for State College. Kristian Goldner earned the win for State College. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 8. With the win, he raised his record to 5-3. State College is now 33-22, while Hamilton is 32-23.
The Spikes got a gift in the bottom of the fifth inning, when they were leading 1-0. With two out and the bases loaded, Charles Bliss reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run. It made the score 2-0, State College.
"We can't expect to win," said Hamilton manager Rex Tutt, "when we play like that."
