Tigers Bag 3-2 Win
|
The Connecticut Tigers picked up a win at Jammers Ballpark, knocking off the Jamestown Jammers, 3-2. Starting pitcher Levon Frank was a big reason why. Frank, now 3-3, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 4, and allowing 2 runs. The Tigers go to 21-35, putting them 7th in the New York-Penn League South Division.
Connecticut used a clutch at-bat from Yosnier Alejo to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Tigers ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Frank told reporters after the game: "Runs were scarce, so we had to work hard to get the W."
