Pizza Rats Win in Glorious Fashion, 2-1

The Staten Island Pizza Rats, with some walk-off drama, delighted their fans at Richmond County Bank Ballpark.
The Staten Island Pizza Rats did just enough to sneak past the Tri-City ValleyCats, 2-1, at Richmond County Bank Ballpark. Staten Island pitcher Reece Herrera, in particular, had a standout performance. Staten Island reliever Felix Ayala picked up the win to move to 2-1. Avery Corrigan suffered the loss.
Staten Island got a knockout punch from V.J. Cox. The pinch hitter hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Reece was in attack mode the whole game," said Staten Island manager Max Collison.
At 19-37, the Pizza Rats are currently last in the New York-Penn League South Division.
