Downbound Rapids Lose 8th Straight
Niagara Falls got a big-time effort from pitcher Arnold Sánchez, but it wasn't enough to keep the Lowell Spinners from winning the game, 4-3. Sánchez threw 8.1 innings of 7-hit ball for the losing team. Lowell reliever Pirro Deco picked up the win, while Benjamin Powers took the loss for Niagara Falls. Lowell has run its win streak to 5 consecutive.

The decisive blow was delivered by Lukas Gutiérrez in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 21-year old left-handed pitcher Benjamin Powers to win the game for Lowell. The home crowd went nuts.

"We need to get back to basics," said Niagara Falls manager Josh Reeder.
