Muckdogs Knock Off Rattlers at Dwyer Stadium

The Batavia Muckdogs beat the Redmond Rattlers, 5-2, at Dwyer Stadium. The Muckdogs got a fine performance from third baseman Aiden Wallace, who went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Matt Thompson was the winner. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 1 run on 5 hits, with no walks and 5 strikeouts. Earning his 3rd save for Batavia was Pato Avila.
The Muckdogs had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 5-2, Batavia, with one out. Redmond, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Roberto Otero dug in at the plate, but on a 1-1 fastball, he grounded out.
Batavia is first in the New York-Penn League North Division with a record of 19-8.
