The Lowell Spinners beat the Jamestown Jammers, 4-1, at Jammers Ballpark. The Spinners got a fine performance from left fielder Travis Gerstung, who was 2-3 with 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times. The 7th-place Spinners bumped their record to 22-30.
Shaun Thomas, who is tied for 6th in the NYP in total bases with 105, had a direct impact on the outcome. Thomas contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put Lowell up, 4-1.
