Emeralds Pick Up 7-3 Win
|
The Eugene Emeralds beat the Vermont Lake Monsters, 7-3, at PK Park. The win was due in part to left fielder Easton Nabors, who was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was Jack Hatter. He's now 1-1. He went 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 9 hits for the Emeralds. Earning his 1st save for Eugene was Andy Weiss.
Eugene second baseman Christian Huyler contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a changeup into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 16th hit of the season and put the Emeralds ahead, 4-1.
Huyler called the triumph "a good team win."
The Emeralds raised their record to 10-17.
