Alex Amadiz, who is tied for 7th in the NYP with a 2.42 ERA, was terrific for the West Virginia Black Bears in his team's 6-1 triumph over the Batavia Muckdogs. His performance earned Amadiz rave reviews. Amadiz got the win, improving to 3-2. He gave up 2 hits and walked 2 over 5 innings. He allowed no runs. The victory gives West Virginia a record of 27-26.

West Virginia used the hitting of Jasper Sandahl to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Black Bears on top, 4-0. For the game, Sandahl had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

West Virginia manager Jesus Sánchez called it "a pretty good win."
