Spinners Rally For 4-3 Win
|
The Lowell Spinners had to overcome a big game from Tri-City right fielder Eden Darling to leave Edward A. LeLacheur Park with a victory. And they did, winning 4-3. Darling went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Lowell reliever Rococo Garcia was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Booth Chaffee. Lowell is now 6-20, Tri-City 12-14.
The Spinners got a big at-bat from second baseman Nicolas Strickland. For the game, Strickland went 1-1 with a triple and a walk. In the bottom of the eighth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Lowell a 4-3 lead.
"It was our day today," Strickland told the Lowell Observer. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
