Spikes Win Streak Reaches 6

The State College Spikes stymied the Youngstown Gremlins, 4-2, at Eastwood Field. Milton Sigrist had a good day at the plate. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for State College. The New York-Penn League South Division-leading Spikes have a record of 38-16.
State College grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Sigrist hit a 2-run home run off River Collins. His 9th home run of the season put the Spikes out in front, 3-1.
"We're not going to feel sorry for ourselves," said Youngstown skipper Brandon Haviland. "Wouldn't do any good."
