Victors Again, Vermont Win Streak at 8
The Vermont Lake Monsters eked out a 3-2 win versus the Atlantic City Jokers at Centennial Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Andrés García. He was terrific. García, the winner, moves to 4-3. He threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. Deacon DiFrancesco wrapped it up, recording his 16th save.

The Lake Monsters got a big at-bat from first baseman Callan Brunner. For the game, Brunner was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Vermont a 2-1 lead.

"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the Lake Monsters," said Brunner.

Vermont goes to 38-14. The win puts them 8 games up in their division.
