Youngstown got a decent performance from pitcher Cecil Porteous, but it wasn't enough to beat the Auburn Doubledays. Auburn won the Falcon Park contest, 3-2. Porteous threw 5.2 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. Chad Helton finished to wrap up his 14th save. Auburn now owns a record of 24-27.

The Doubledays got a big at-bat from designated hitter Hudson Phelps. For the game, Phelps went 1-4 with a home run. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Auburn a 3-2 lead.

"We were in it," said Youngstown manager Josh Bieber. "We just didn't score enough runs."
