Velasco Mashes 2 Homers in 5-1 State College Win

At The Oil Field, the Oil City Oilers and State College Spikes were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The State College Spikes dealt the Oil City Oilers a 5-1 loss at The Oil Field. Ron Velasco was the star on offense. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Synan Paez got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed no runs on 4 hits in 1.2 innings. Ben Vough earned the save, his 1st, for the Spikes.
State College took a 5-1 lead on Velasco's 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Ryder Scarbrough in the top of the seventh, propelled State College to the win.
"We try to keep the mood light around here," said Velasco. "Winning helps."
The win makes State College 30-19.
