The Youngstown Gremlins earned a close win over the Connecticut Tigers, thanks in part to Isiah Martin. The Youngstown right-hander played a key role in the 3-1 victory. Lee Shape picked up the save, his 9th. At 22-26, the Gremlins claim 5th place in the New York-Penn League South Division.

The Gremlins had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 3-1, Youngstown, with one out. Connecticut, with a runner on 1st, was mounting a threat. Oscar Schwab dug in at the plate, but on a 1-2 slider, he grounded out.
