Twaddell drives in 5 runs, Leads Muckdogs to Win
|
Batavia catcher Heath Twaddell was a significant contributor in his team's 11-5 triumph over the Lowell Spinners. He went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5 for Batavia. The winner was Gabriel Gapinski, who threw 69 pitches over 5 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 3 hits. The losses continue to mount for Lowell, which has now dropped 12 in a row.
The Muckdogs got a big at-bat from first baseman Fabian Hunt. For the game, Hunt went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Batavia a 3-1 lead.
"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Lowell skipper Danny Inglis.
