In a low-scoring contest, Auburn pitcher Ángel Zaragosa was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 2-1 win. Zaragosa got the win, improving to 1-3. He gave up 5 hits and walked 3 over 5.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Taylor Anderson earned the save, his 11th.
Auburn used a well-timed hit by Aiden Freeman to capture the win. The right fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Doubledays ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Zaragosa. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
Auburn is now 22-28.
