Figueras Leads Muckdogs to 8-4 Win Over Tigers
|
At Dwyer Stadium, the Connecticut Tigers and Batavia Muckdogs were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Batavia Muckdogs beat the Connecticut Tigers, 8-4, at Dwyer Stadium. Batavia right fielder Yosel Figueras had an outstanding performance. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. At 29-15, the Muckdogs claim second place in the New York-Penn League North Division.
With Batavia leading 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth, Figueras hit a fastball from Nate Clark for a grand slam home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Muckdogs ahead, 8-3.
In postgame comments to the Batavia Times, Figueras said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
