Staten Island pitcher Socrates Palacios had a large part in his team beating the Connecticut Tigers, 5-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winning pitcher was Palacios, now 3-2. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 8. Donny Sireci closed it out for Staten Island, earning his 2nd save.

Staten Island used a well-timed hit by Kevin Louis to capture the win. The right fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Pizza Rats ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

Said losing manager Simon Begum: "These are the grinding hard days that all good teams go through, and this is when we've got to stick together and believe in one another."
