Rapids Rally to Win
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Niagara Falls Rapids and the Batavia Muckdogs. Niagara Falls won it, 2-1, in 10 innings. Niagara Falls starter Salomón Ramírez was in command. Morgan Pliego picked up the win in relief for Niagara Falls, while Peyton Thomas took the loss. Jackson Allred earned the save for Niagara Falls, his 9th of the year.
Niagara Falls needed the clutch hitting of Elijah Ellis to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Rapids on top, 2-1. For the game, Ellis had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"This ballgame left me feeling kind of raw," said Batavia manager Adam LaBreck.
Niagara Falls, now 24-22, holds down third place in the New York-Penn League North Division.
