A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Atlantic City Jokers and Batavia Muckdogs.

The Atlantic City Jokers topped the Batavia Muckdogs, 6-2, in New York-Penn League action at Monongalia County Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Atlantic City pitcher and Catalina, Arizona, native Ian Platter. Today's win puts Atlantic City at 20-23, while Batavia falls to 15-28.

Brandon Schimmel had a big 2-run double for the Jokers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Atlantic City leading 4-2 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Keith Phillips and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Jokers ahead, 6-2.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Adam LaBreck.
