Lake Monsters Come Back Late to Clip Spikes
|
Though he had a terrific game, A.J. Sandoval could not prevent his team, the State College Spikes, from absorbing a loss. Vermont won the game, 4-3. Sandoval was 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles. Deacon DiFrancesco earned save number 12. The Lake Monsters raised their record to 30-13.
Tommy Lodge delivered a big hit for Vermont. The center fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Lake Monsters ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
Lodge told reporters after the game: "All's well that ends well."
