Jokers Win, 8-5, Versus Lake Monsters
|
Jokers shortstop Jack LaLone put his stamp on his team's 8-5 win over the Vermont Lake Monsters. LaLone went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for Atlantic City in the contest. Terry Gavin, the winner, goes to 3-4. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, with no walks and 7 strikeouts over 5.2 innings. Jasper Hite picked up his 2nd save of the season.
In the bottom of the third, Atlantic City catcher Yasiel Tinoco had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Tinoco stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 3-2, Atlantic City. For the game, he went 1-3 with a walk.
"It's still just a game," said LaLone, "whether you win or lose."
With the win, Atlantic City pushed its record to 26-16.
