Batavia Loses Again, 7-3
The Aberdeen Ironbirds topped the Batavia Muckdogs, 7-3, the lion's share of the credit going to designated hitter Merl Gallen. On the day, Gallen went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Ironbirds. This loss makes it 6 in a row for Batavia.

With Aberdeen leading 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Gallen hit a cutter from Jerod Johnson for a grand slam home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Ironbirds ahead, 7-0.

"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Batavia manager Adam LaBreck.
