Hawks Take Nail-Biter Over Rapids
|
The Boise Hawks finished things off in style.
In a high-scoring game between Boise and Niagara Falls, third baseman Craig Moriarty was a difference-maker. The 22-year-old helped Boise grab the 9-8 win. He was 3-5 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 4 runs. Boise reliever Obi-wan Suzor was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Beau Michael.
To capture the win, the Hawks needed a clutch hit from Moriarty -- and he delivered. His run-scoring double off Beau Michael in the bottom of the tenth decided the game.
"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Jim Snyder.
The Hawks raised their record to 8-12.
