Victory Over Doubledays Takes Vermont to 21-14
|
Vermont Lake Monsters starter Levi Bell kept the Auburn Doubledays hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. Bell, the winner, moves to 3-2. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 1 and giving up 2 walks. Vermont is now 21-14. Auburn is 21-14.
Eduardo Cabrera had a big 2-run double for the Lake Monsters in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Vermont leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from Ethan Carson and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lake Monsters ahead, 5-2.
"Levi is one tough hombre," said Vermont manager Charles Chaney.
