Gremlins Absorb 6-5 Home Loss
|
Eastwood Field was the site of an exciting ballgame between the West Virginia Black Bears and Youngstown Gremlins.
The West Virginia Black Bears beat the Youngstown Gremlins, 6-5, in part because of first baseman Payton Barrow. He went 2-3 with a home run and was hit 2 times, while scoring 2 times. West Virginia occupies 4th place in the New York-Penn League South Division at 20-16.
Jacob Kiser had a big 2-run home run for the Black Bears in the top of the fourth inning. With West Virginia leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Dedrick McAdoo, who is tied for 4th in the NYP in strikeouts with 46, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Black Bears on top, 4-1.
"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Barrow.
