Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Staten Island Pizza Rats and Auburn Doubledays.

The Staten Island Pizza Rats took Auburn pitcher Welington García's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Falcon Park. The final score had Staten Island getting past the Doubledays, 4-2. García went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 5. By defeating Auburn, the 8th-place Pizza Rats improved to 13-23.

Mason Wells helped out the Staten Island cause in the top of the seventh inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the pinch hitter went 1 for 1.

Wells called the win "a collective effort."
