The Aberdeen Ironbirds stormed past the Tri-City ValleyCats, 13-5, at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. Aberdeen shortstopFarid Cruz , who leads the NYP in total bases with 100, led the hit parade. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. The save went to Darren Babin, his 7th this season. The Ironbirds improved their record to 28-10 with the win over Tri-City.

Aberdeen relied on the bat of Wayan Taylor to get the win. The left fielder ripped a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Ironbirds ahead, 6-4. For the game, Taylor had 1 double and 1 triple in 5 at-bats.

"It felt good to put the barrel on the ball," said Cruz.
