ValleyCats Defeat Pippins, 10-7
|
A 4-RBI performance from the 22-year old second baseman Charles Burrelli helped the Tri-City ValleyCats beat the Yakima Valley Pippins, 10-7. The win was credited to Wyatt Gotwalt in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Ron Levitt took the loss. Tri-City, now 10-9, holds down 6th place in the New York-Penn League North Division.
Had Tyson Schlak not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Schlak hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the ValleyCats.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Schlak.
