|
The Tri-City ValleyCats topped the Niagara Falls Rapids, 5-3, with left fielder Charles Bell playing a big role. Bell went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the ValleyCats in the win. Edwin Valdez, now 1-1, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Tri-City is now 13-25, while Niagara Falls is 18-20.
First Baseman Patrick Hogge made an impact for Tri-City, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Lucas Maddox in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Hogge was 1-3 with a double and a walk.
