Doubledays Turn Away Cyclones, 4-2
|
Falcon Park was the site of a competitive game between the Brooklyn Cyclones and Auburn Doubledays.
Auburn Doubledays starter Quentin Schaffer was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Brooklyn Cyclones, 4-2. Hayden Mars earned the save for Auburn, his 5th of the year.
Joe Blanc had a big 2-run double for the Doubledays in the bottom of the first inning. With Auburn leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Maxton Cullins and swatted a double to left. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Doubledays ahead, 3-0.
"Quentin had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Auburn manager Carlos Renteria.
Yes, it was a win for Auburn; but their 11-24 record is still nothing to boast about.
