Red Wings Sink Cyclones, 6-5
|
Despite a fine performance by third baseman Radman Eads, the Brooklyn Cyclones lost to the Hamilton Red Wings, 6-5. Eads was 3 for 4 with 3 singles. He scored 2 times. Alonso Olmeda, now 3-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. Manuel Burgos closed it out for Hamilton, earning his 5th save.
Keith Hardison had a big 2-run home run for the Red Wings in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Hamilton leading 4-2 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Izaiah Pearson and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Red Wings on top, 6-2.
"I just try to be a dog, have good swings, good at-bats," said Hardison.
At 14-24, the Red Wings are currently 8th in the New York-Penn League North Division.
