7-5 Triumph Takes Hamilton to 22-14
|
The Hamilton Red Wings defeated the Atlantic City Jokers, 7-5, at Red Wings Ballpark. Hamilton shortstop Keldon Neville had a superb performance. He went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 3 times. Hamilton reliever Nick Looper Jr. picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Ramón Justino was saddled with the loss. Hamilton now owns a record of 22-14.
Had Mike Gates not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Gates hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Red Wings.
"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Neville.
