Red Wings Solve Doubledays, 4-3
|
The Hamilton Red Wings knocked off the Auburn Doubledays, 4-3, in New York-Penn League action at Red Wings Ballpark. Hamilton pitcher and Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, native Rosario Zarate had an outstanding performance. Zarate picked up the win for Hamilton, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1. The 8th-place Red Wings own a record of 8-26.
The Red Wings got a big at-bat from right fielder Felipe Pinales. For the game, Pinales went 1-4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 3rd double of the season gave Hamilton a 3-1 lead.
"Rosario was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Hamilton manager Jordan Attwood.
